Traffic Network Performance Measures
Network Performance Measure is a suite of 5 applications used to investigate the daily traffic congestion-related issues that municipalities experience.
Network Visualizer allows us to see the overall network performance at various instances in the past. The module provides several other information such as spills, estimated queue lengths, active alternate routes during congestion, and speeding issues.
Route Segment Analyzer provides granular delay information along the route. The module also provides details of bottlenecks, design issues, coordination issues, and optimization opportunities.
Route Performance Analyzer provides a delay profile for the overall route at various instances in the past. The module allows us to evaluate multiple route options for buses; the information can be compiled and provided to emergency services for better route planning for response.
The Runner is a private data collection app that allows us to capture travel time data that serves as ground truth values. The data enable us to normalize all other data sources for travel time. This app is also used to capture pre-coordination and post-coordination evaluation runs.
Run Simulator is the Visualizer of captured data through Runner App. The simulator allows us to study our coordination evaluation runs in detail. We can visualize the average of all runs or can visualize all runs simultaneously. The speed and altitude are also captured simultaneously, allowing us to have a better understanding of driving behavior.
